Event Review | BC STONE Supports the Beijing Theater and Performance Space Design Forum

On July 28, the "Top Ten Design Brand Leaders in the Beijing Architectural Design Industry – Zhang Mingjie ·Performing Arts Spaces Design" forum was successfully held at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center. BC Stone Group, as a global leader in the stone industry, was invited to participate in this event, joining numerous corporate designer friends to appreciate the artistic designs of performing arts spaces.
1. Industry Event
The event was attended by over 100 designers from various design companies and design institutes in Beijing, as well as by Meng Jianguo, President of the Beijing Architectural Design Association; Sun Xuhe, Party Secretary and Deputy Secretary-General; Zhang Lei, Director of the Design Committee; Liu Jing, Secretary-General; and Zhang Haihan, Deputy Secretary-General. The forum was co-hosted by Director Zhang Lei and Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Haihan, with sponsorship from BC Stone Group.
2. Visit and Sharing – Zhang Mingjie
At the beginning of the event, Zhang Mingjie, Vice President of Zhongshe Zhuobang (Beijing) Architectural Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. and one of the leading figures of the "Top Ten Design Brands" in the performing arts space category selected by the Beijing Architectural Design Association in 2020, led the guests to visit and introduced his representative work, the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center. He shared the creative journey behind the architectural masterpiece.
3. Guest Interaction
Following that, Zhang Xianfeng, Deputy General Manager of BC Stone Group, engaged in a dialogue and exchange with Zhang Mingjie, Vice President & Professor-level Senior Engineer of Zhongshe Zhuobang (Beijing) Architectural Design Research Institute and Deputy Dean of the Environmental Art Institute; Zhang Jing, CEO of Beijing Yuandian Future Technology Co., Ltd.; and Hu Xingmei, Promotion Manager of Engineering Empowerment Center at Huizhou Leshi Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. They discussed the application characteristics of new materials and new processes, as well as how products can contribute to decorative designs and create a better living environment. The sharpening of great minds and the insightful Q&A session received thunderous applause from the audience.

4. Classic Projects
During the interactive session with guests, Zhang Xianfeng, Deputy General Manager of BC Stone Group, also shared some of Best Cheer Group’s classic projects. In addition to the domestic performing arts architectural works such as the Beijing National Grand Theatre designed by Paul Andreu and the Guangzhou Opera House designed by Zaha Hadid, he also showcased internationally renowned architectural works like the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Palace, Toyota Headquarters Building in Japan, and the Venetian Macao Hotel in China. The unique artistic vibe that natural stone brings to architecture – be it grand, magnificent, solid, or simple – left the guests amazed.
5. New Materials Exhibition
In the post-pandemic era and during the era of general health awareness, there is a growing interest in ecological spaces, making green building materials a new trend. Beyond natural stone, Best Cheer also showcased innovative materials such as antibacterial engineered stone and the exclusive presentation of Lamborghini rock slabs from Italy at the event. These new materials, with their fresh textures, natural patterns, and outstanding performance, became the focal point of attention for the attending designers.
